Vision and Mission

St Thomas Higher Secondary School Dewas aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment where all the students are encouraged to explore their potential and achieve their personal best in all aspects of school life. Aims and Selection

The aim of our Admissions Procedure is to ensure that pupils who join the school are happy, secure and successful within our academic and cultural environment. Admissions are generally opened for class nursery and in a limited number to other classes depending on the vacancies.

Selection Criteria

Admissions are generally opened for class Nursery. Admission to this class is governed by the age criteria issued by the Education Department by time to time.
For Grades1 to 8, the child should have completed the course of study of the previous class, for admission to be granted.
For Grade 9, admission for the available seats, if any, will be granted on the basis of an aptitude test coupled with an interview.
For Grade 11, the admission window for external candidates will open only after the declaration of the CBSE Class 10 results. The admission is based on the cut off percentages for each stream, which is displayed on the school notice board. Students from boards other than CBSE are required to provide the migration certificate.
Admission will not normally be granted directly in Classes 10 and 12.
Admission will be granted subject to the availability of seats. Once seats are filled, admissions to that class will be closed.
We also recognize the value of Art, Drama, Music, Service and Sport and look for achievement and enthusiasm in these fields.
We look for pupils who are prepared to make the most of the opportunities on offer at St.Thomas.
We do not discriminate on grounds of gender, religion, caste, ethnicity, social background or disability.

Club

A large number of societies operate in the school, both academic and non-academic. These form an integral part of the school’s enrichment programs allowing pupils to pursue particular interests and to broaden their understanding through listening and participation.

Societies are often addressed by visiting speakers and, at the same time, encourage pupil presentations, seminars, discussion and performance.

The Library

The Library seeks to support the educational and co-curricular aims of St.Thomas School by making the Library a center of teaching, learning and reading for pleasure. The service we provide aims to enable students to develop as confident library users and independent scholars, and prepare them for further study and higher education.
The Library enriches the curricular experiences of all pupils by providing a broad range of resources, both in terms of format and content, as well as the knowledge required to access, analyze and make use of these materials.
The Library is a well-used resource with a welcoming atmosphere aimed at building a student’s engagement with literature and encouraging independent study.
The Library aims to instill and encourage a love of reading, a love of the written word and an awareness of what is happening in the world of research and literature. Educating pupils in the use of information, providing support for research and developing a pupil’s ability to make challenging and thoughtful reading choices is at the core of everything that the Library does.
